Nick
Nick Ellis, Creative Director
Nick is a road-tested creative badass. He has been creating award winning content across multiple mediums for over ten years.
After bombing out of Western Michigan University in grandiose fashion, Nick found his life’s passion while attending the Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts. After acing their video production program, he moved north to begin his career as a News Photographer for a Traverse City television station. After a year of learning how to perform under extreme deadlines, he decided it was time to thaw out and joined Western Creative in Redford, MI as a Videographer. Working at a small agency meant Nick was quickly wearing many hats, and was soon promoted to Production Director. His skills blossomed, and over the course of eight years he lead the creative process on hundreds of broadcast, print, and online projects.
After the boss man hired his know-nothing son to manage the shop, Nick decided it was a good time to strike out on his own. Over the next few years, Nick developed a strong client following and Nick Ellis Designs gained a reputation of general awesomeness.
In 2008 Nick hopped aboard Hunch Free as our Creative Director. Once here, Nick helped develop the CultureCast, and dove head first into the social media marketing pool. Nick currently oversees all creative development for Hunch Free and has his hands in every project; whether it's broadcast, print, online or other.
When not crushing it for HF, Nick leads a laid-back family-centric life in Central Suburbia. He enjoys all things Mac, barbecues, drinking cold beer on golf courses, grunge music, arguing politics, and playing make-believe with his 3 kids.
